i wanted to know is it possible for a car dealership to hold your title to a car you just purchased and repossess another car you have with them for non payment

It's possible IF you have a contract that allows it (credit unions often use such clauses). It's not possible unless you have a contract that allows it. Since you gave us no factual details there is no way to give you a more useful answer that to tell you to read your contract.
