Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Arbratration

A few years ago I ourchased a cell phone and received another one for free. A ''good'' friend of mine at the time was in need of a cell phone so I gave it to her. She then within the matter of a few months ran the bill up to $2,000. I took her to court over the matter and own the case. She never paid and took off. I have a collections agency calling me now saying that this is about to go into Arbratration and they will take legal action. I faxed the court docs to them a year ago and they are saying that I am still responsible. Is there anything that I can do?

Re: Arbratration

Is there more to the story? I am not sure why you believe you may not be responsible for the agreements you entered with the call phone carrier.

Re: Arbratration

You still owe the phone company $2000. Suing her doesn't change that at all.
