Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

car reposession

I live in Canton, GA and got divorced back in June '08 , lost my job March '08. I haven't seem to find a permanent job yet. I have three children and no childsupport. I contacted HSBC to help with my payments but their playing mind games with me. If I let them come repo my vehicle which is mine according to the divorce papers ( even though my x husband is on loan). What is the percentage that they could take from me when I do get a job? My friend thought it could be 20% of my pay. Also since divorce papers state its my car, can they touch my xhusbands salary?

Any answers would be gracious.

Re: car reposession

Garnishments take 25% of after-tax pay, and both debtors face that risk.

Why not consider a personal bankruptcy to discharge the debt altogether, assuming you qualify.
