Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Civil Action/Medical Bill

Two days ago my husband received a civil action from Fayette County Georgia for medical bill from the hospital plus legal fees for 2006 and 2007. My husband has been disabled since July 2006 with no income, not eligible for SS or SSI. I have tried to pay what I could but only draw 330.00 per week and do try to keep up my health insurance to pay these bills. What do I do, am I liable for these bills. I have to also write an answer to the suit and mail it by 30 days. Is there a lawyer in my county that will be cheap, I have little money and there''s lots of these kinds of bills. Thanks for your help

Answering the case really doesn't help for long if you owe the money as it just delays a judgment. You may be able to eliminate all the debts at once with a bankruptcy. My office handles those. Call me to discuss the details to see if that would be a good option for you.
