collecting a debt

I have a client that owes me about 3000 dollars, but has now claimed chapter 7 bankruptcy. Is there anything I can do to get this money or at lease show on their credit file if there is nothing I can do to get the money

We don't know anything about the debt or the Bankruptcy case. However, federal laws bars you from taking any action on the debt, even a letter or phone call, so until you get qualified advice on what to do you should simply do nothing.
