collecting a debt
My ex-husband and I had a car repo'd 12 yrs ago. I just recently recieved a phone call stating I still owe them over 7,000 am I still liable for this

If you were liable then, you are probably liable now (perhaps with interest and fees). Debts don't generally just go away and, generally, creditors can try to collect indefinitely.
