Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Collection agency overrules judgement

I had a judgement issued against me, the company that obtained the judgement gave my account to a collection agency. The collection agency is stating I need to pay $2300, when the judgement was for $662. Can they do that legally?

The judgment likely includes post-judgment interest, so yes, you could owe more even if the principal and judgment was $662. We don't have the judgment, dates, etc. to figure out what else it may be.

Judgmenst draw interest. If you let it sit long enough, it would grow. Without the exact numbers and dates, no one can calculate it.
