Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

collections law

My sisters daughter and son-in law ran up credit card debt and took out unsecured loans from 4 different companies. My sister has MS, is in a wheelchair, lives with her daughter, has no assets and collects Social Security in the amount of $650.00. One of the debtors has turned over the debt to a collection agency. Should my sister worry about trying to repay any of the loan? Since she has no assets or income from a job, what could they do?

Re: collections law

You don't say whose name the accounts were in. People are generally only responsible for their own debts (or their accounts when they allow others to use them).
