contempt of court

I got a visit from the sheriffs office today about contempt of court pertaining to a cse from 1996 about a welfare case where my grandmother who is dead now said i was committing welfare fraud the judgement against me was suppose to be taken care of through my welfare/foodstamps it was to be deducted from my benefits. i thought they were taken care of and i heard nothing else about it until today? is this something i should be worried about? is there something i can do?

When the Sheriff shows up it is something be concerned about. You need a lawyer.
