Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
My credit card company is trying to cheat me
I have a credit card that has been issued out of Atlanta, GA. The bank that issued the card offers checks which you can use instead of your card. I have never used on of these checks, but on a statement I received several months ago, a check had been written from my account, the amount of which put me over my limit. Coincidentally, the check was written and cashed in Atlanta, GA.
I contacted the company which issued my card within the specified time limit, but they refuse to send me a copy of the check. I have called, sent letters, and faxes. They said they would fax me a copy of the check within two days, but I haven't seen it yet.
Is there anything I can do?

At a minimum, you need to protest the charge to your account
IN WRITING. Send it certified mail. Keep a copy. Do it
quickly as there are deadlines under federal law for such
complaints. Ask them to take the charge off of your account
while they investigate. With any luck, this will yield some
results. Good Luck!
