Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
credit card
my daughter was told by her father to sign some papers..--name removed--joint account request for--name removed--credit card when she was 18 years of age. ..she was not aware of what she signed or the magnitude. However, she was told she was not the responsible party by her father...she is now 22 years of age. her father recently passed. when the cr card company was informed of his death they immediately placed the account under my daughters name, as the responsible party, and have now started billing her and have placed her in collections. Is she responsible for this debt? What is the legal age of contract in the state of GA?

Re: credit card
18 year olds are adults. If she signed for the account she owes for it.
