I have a credit card account in collection. The Co. said it has been charged off. Atty is calling, threatening suit. What can they do, what rights do I have?

Re: Credit Card Debt

Charged off only means they have been unable to collect. It does not mean the debt cannot be collected from you. If you are in serious debt problems, you may want to look at bankruptcy and related options.
