Can a debt buyer that bought a credit card debt force you to sell your house?

Generally, a creditor with a valid debt (including valid purchasers of debt) can sue and likely get a judgment, then put a judgment lien on any real property you own. Forcing you to sell is a couple steps beyond that, but they can sit and wait on a sale to get paid, if there is equity.
