Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Credit Card Debt

I have been served by two law offices on two different credit cards. I would like to pay them partcially off in a lump sum but I cannot pay the entire balance. Should I get a lawyer to negotiate this for me? Or try to do it myself? How much does this usually cost?

You may also have some defenses if they do sue you, so it would help to talk to an attorney.

There are many pitfalls to this, so I'd suggest spending the money for a lawyer consultation and determine what you should do and what you may need help with. In some cases you may just need coaching. In others you may need more. My office can handle such matters.

Re: Credit Card Debt

You don't state the amounts so there is no way to guess what a lawyer may save you. For smaller balances, the money may be better spent on the debt rather than a lawyer. If many thousands of dolars are at issue, it may be worth paying for a couple hours time.
