Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

my credit card debt is from more than 7 years ago which makes it past the stature of limitation for credit reports. A apparant summons was filed at the 6th year and they say this is legal to keep the debt open. Is this correct

For that alone, no, although the lawsuit may be listed on your report. Other factors could lead to it being on the report. including the original start date or acts that could have extended the time.
