Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
Credit Card
I had a credit card with a $500 dollar limit I requested a auto pay for 4 months after which I found out the payments were not set up and I had been charged nearly $70 a month. suddenly my bill was $800 after offering twice of $100 a month payments and being turned down, now I owe $1500. And they are threatening to garnish my wages. the card was used to buy food. Can they garnish my wages? Do I have any legal rights in this bill becomming triple what I owe?

Re: Credit Card
You owe what you agreed to pay, and that may include interest at a default rate, late fees, and over-limit fees. No one here can check your statements to see how it got to the amount it did. You need to do that monthly.
Re: Credit Card
Surely you knew the money had not come out of your bank account, and certainly you're aware that most banks charge large fees for missed and late payments and overlimit fees.
You owe the money and need to pay it. If you do not, unless you go bankrupt, a garnishment is a very likely outcome.
