Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

credit card fraud

I used a credit card that was in my name, that I received in the mail, and I found myself a month later talking to a detective charged with a felony account of credit card fraud! Come to find out it was a secondary card from a previous girlfriend 4 years ago! Of course she pressed charges! BUT I had no idea! There was no mention of her on the mailing, I had no clue! Now I'm going to jail, court, etc!! Please help!

Re: credit card fraud

What did you think when a card arrived even though you presumably had not applied? That alone should have been a reason to inquire further, and not use the card until you had done so.
