The person that has lived with me for about 6 years is having financial problems He added my name to an AMEX card he was issued without my pemission nor did I sign anything Icalled them whenm the card came and told them I did not want my name on anything of his to remove it We have nothing else joint and have never had. They are now calling me for pmts is this legal

If all you did is call them, you have a serious problem, may be liable, and need a lawyer immediately.

He committed a felony. To not be liable, you need to have done two things: (1) Make a police report reporting his felony crime, and (2) Send a written letter to the creditor explaining this plus be willing to prosecute him.

If you used the card at any point, none of this will help you. If you waited a long time, it could be too late.

In any event, you need a lawyer immediately and should not talk with the creditor until you meet with a lawyer to determine your best course.
