Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Crediting My Acct

A company has sent me a letter requesting payment for an overdue payment. The only problem is they received my check AND cashed it 5 days before my payment was due.

They sent me someone else's damaged check in the mail requesting funds. I called them twice and explained their error...they suggested it was probably my fault and were extremely rude. I filed a complaint 2 weeks ago with the BBB and they stilll have not credited my acct.

I don't feel like going out of my way due to their incompetence and discourteous service.

How can I file a complaint against this company?

You don't say what kind of "complaint" you want to file. This certainly should not be a legal issue at this point (the purpose of this forum). What happened when you offered to send them a copy of the canceled check, which is the obvious first step? If you "don't feel like going out of your way" to resolve it by providing the proof of payment and working with them, you can probably carry it on quite a while. The better choice is to work with them, go out of your way to send proof, and move on.
