Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

My father who recently died had a personal line of credit owing $14,000; what happens to that line of credit if there is no money to pay that dedt? I am his only heir and cannot pay the debt myself. The only asset we share is the house we are (were) living in together. We were both obligated on the mortgage for the house

Creditors come first, so the house may have to be sold to pay the debt. Whether it does or not depends on the wording of your deed. You need to see an attorney to discuss this and your options before talking to the creditor.
