How to find out if I have a law suit against me.
I need to know if someone has filed a lawsuit against me. Where can I find this information. It should be a public record.

If a lawsuit was filed, usually a deputy will serve you within days. In the interim, call the clerk of all the civil courts in your county. That will always include a superior court and a magistrates court. In some counties there also is a state court. If you have been sued see a lawyer immediately. You generally have 30 days to answer or do whatever else you might do (such as bankruptcy).
