Sure - that is the most common method of collection of a judgment.

It's not only legal, but it is very common. A garnishment occurs because you have already lost a lawsuit, and it's a pretty automatic process. As a general rule the only way to stoip it other than paying is bankruptcy. See a lawyer immediately if you are in one.
