Georgia collection fees

Received calls from collection agency re: debt I did not know about. Then I paid exactly what I owed directly to the creditor(a GA private college) & the collect agency knows I paid it. I am now getting calls from agency to pay them THEIR fee of $450. This is IN ADDITION to the amount of my debt. Who pays their fee...me or college?

You probably owe the additional fees. Most promissory notes make you liable for the costs of collection. Since none of us here have read that note, there is no way for anyone here to give you a definitive answer.
