Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

What is the Georgia law concerning credit card debt upon death? I am an only child and my mother is terminal with one credit card in her name only. She does not own a home. Would her life insurance have to be used to pay off the debt or would it just be uncollectable to the credit company?

The answer depends on information that you did not provide. The insurance would be used towards the debt if it is left to the estate, and belongs to the beneficiary if she names a specific beneficiary. The debt also could be paid out of other assets, if she has some. With more details I can give you a full answer.
