i helped out someone in la with money i send though walmarts money grams for over a year was promised they would repay it i live in ga what am i to do

You do not say how much, or what "la" is, but basically this is the risk you took when sending money. What is it worth to go to the location of the other party, wherever that is, and file a lawsuit? What is a judgment worth when you try to collect it?
