Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
I was hit by a drunk driver. I got treatmeant from a chiropractor from 9/06-10/06. I signed a aggreement that when the case was settled they would get paid. It settled in 3/09. I got a letter in the mail 12/10 that they were never paid. I contacted my attorney to find out they where over looked. I've since been trying to find out and work out them getting paid. During this time they have repetitived on calling durning a one week period for the past two and half months. My last call was from the chiropractor himself threatening to sue and take me too court. I have stayed in contact with them letting them know all the updates when I have them and now this. My question is what should I do? I don't have the large amount there asking for and I have asked if he would be willing to come down on the bill his reply was absolutely not. Can he sue me still,is there a way to get the amount lowered, and if I'm still paying payments and year 6 comes around since the treatment will it expire.

I doubt you have a contract that actually says he will wait indefinitely to get paid. However if you do, your attorney should be able to shut up the doctor in a hurry. Your attorney is familiar with the case and no one here is. You should be calling him.
