Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
my husband and i have several judgements agaist us. today we received a call from a man saying he was an asset investigator and that he would be at our house on monday to look over our assets. is this legal, does this happen, and do we have to let him into our house. we have not been able to file bankruptcy yet.

You are absolutely under NO OBLIGATION to let this person into your home. I've never heard of an "asset investigator". Why would you want to help someone take your assets from you to satisfy these judgments?

Do NOT let any such person in your home. In fact, it was a very bad idea to even answer the phone. Never ever answer a creditor phone call.
At this point you have waited way too long to get bankruptcy counsel. You always fare better and spend less to act before judgments. Nonetheless, you may have remedies now. See a bankruptcy lawyer immediately. It could prove disasterous and costly to wait.
If you are eligible to file, a bankruptcy could eliminate or otherwise help with judgments.
