Yes. You can expect a creditor to also go after your paychecks, bank account, home and other assets.

If you have such debt and cannot pay it, you should be talking to a bankruptcy lawyer so as to protect yourself. It is generally smart to consider options and act before a creditor considers theirs, and a lawyer may also see (in some cases) multiple options.

My office handles such matters in your county. Feel free to call me at 404-768-3509.

Yes, provided that the assets are owned free and clear. What Attorney Ashman said about bank accounts and other assets is likewise correct. I would not be so worried about seizure of boats as I would be about garnishment of paychecks and a levy on your bank account. Creditors want cash and these are the easiest to get. Other tangible non-money assets have to be sold and sales imply costs. Also, they don't always bring in very much money.

All things considered, you need to think about resolving the debt in some fashion. If you have a lot of debt, maybe bankruptcy is the answer. If your debt is manageable, it can be resolved. If you are interested in resolving the debts outside of bankruptcy, I give free email consults. Please contact me at [email protected] if interested.
