Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Judgment rendered w/o going to court

Rec notice in mail only back in Feb to answer complaint of possible judgment, never served by sherriff, Filed with court, and certified letter within 30 days and requested production of documents. Never heard another word till today that a judgment was ordered w/o notice of going to court. Can this be disputed because I do have proof that the answer was filed and I never served by sherriff but attorney''s office showed a deptuy signed my name claiming to serve me and stated in writing that I failed to answer. I thought a signature is required to show that I was served

What can I do?

If you really weren't properly served, you should see an attorney who can work on getting that judgment voided. Better get to it quick before you start getting garnished. You may have been served notoriously - which means someone who lived at your house accepted service of the lawsuit by the sheriff and didn't tell you.
