Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Is it legal for a company to charge you a deposit of $150 everytime you are late with a payment? I have been charged this fee at least four times now by our electric company.

The deposit is to protect them for non-payment. Obviously, it looks like you are a risk. If you want to avoid negative consequences, pay the bill on time.
