Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I lost my job and not have no money to pay my credit cards at this time. I have two credit cards one with a balance of 10,000 and one with a balance of 21,000. When I find a job I would like to file a chapter to repay them. Right now, I am 7 months past due and the credit companies are sending these to an attorney to file a lawsuit to obtain a judgement from the court. I am in the state of Georgia. Could I possibly lose my home? What are my options at this point?
