Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
If I made reservations to a hotel in Germany and did not receive a conformation number stating that I had the rooms, am I liable to pay a cancellation fee if I decided to go else where? A parentally the hotel emailed me the conformation number but I didn't see it until I got back from Germany. After receiving my credit card statement, I noticed that the hotel charged me for the first night or for the cancellation fee. Anyways it was around $300 and I made a claim for it. The credit card decided not to grant a refund because I could not give a cancellation number. I did not have a cancellation number because at the time I thought I did not have the rooms. If I had the rooms confirmed then I would not go else where. Thanks for your help.

Your failure to read your own email was negligent on your part. You made the reservation and did not cancel. That's completely your fault. Your credit card company was correct.
