If I marry someone who has not filed taxes for several years, can I become responsible for thier debt after marriage? What are the long-term ramifications?

You would have a probem if you ever did a joint tax return with him.

In some cases, if it were shown that you benefited financial from his tax evasion, you could be criminally charged as an accessory to the crime.
