Getting money for car sold

I sold a car to a person and they promised to have the rest of what was owed to me the next weekend they did not contact me and I contacted them & had them sign a paper showing what they owed. I have not heard anything from them. The wife has had a baby and she signed the paper but she does not work. I have not heard anything from them and have not received the money when I was told that I would get the money.What can I do?
