Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
Multiple states involved in case
I enlisted the services of an attorney in Virginia for a custody case. I owe her $3000 from the case. I moved to NC a little over a year ago. I now live in Ga. The summons was mailed to my NC address and forwarded to my new Ga address. It does not have a date written on it for court. I do not have a job and haven't for almost 9 years. I do not own a car or a home. I am contemplating bankruptcy for this and a couple of other old debts. I cannot work due to illness but haven't worked enough to qualify for disability. What should I do? What state statutes protect or convict me?
