Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Paid in Full on a Credit Card

We were instructed by our lender to put ''endorsement of this check constitues payment in full of all disputed debts.'' We were a little nervous about this. We did do it and they deposited it. Can they legally do anything to us? Since a check is a legal binding agreement is this acceptable?
