Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
Paid in Full on a Credit Card
We were instructed by our lender to put ''endorsement of this check constitues payment in full of all disputed debts.'' We were a little nervous about this. We did do it and they deposited it. Can they legally do anything to us? Since a check is a legal binding agreement is this acceptable?

You are asking about a doctrine called "accord and satifaction" in contract law. The law on this matter is more complex than you assume by your question and I would need further facts to advise you. Good luck.
