Third party collection agency

I received a summons from a third party collection agency. I did not respond to the summons. Can they freeze my account and take money without notification?

Usually when you fail to respon to a court summons, you lose a case with no further notice. Once they get their judgment, they can garnishee a bank account or paycheck without advance warning.
