Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
Trying to pay bills and they file against me in court
I owe three company's money. I am trying to pay them and one may still file in court against me if I don't pay in full this next week. What can I do to keep it out of court? It has become a problem and two of them call me on Sundays. I have made some small payments and just have started a Job that I get payed at the end of each month. What can be done.

You are doing this wrong. NEVER EVER talk to any collector on the phone or be intimidated by letters. Threats to sue are usually hollow; if a person threatens to do it next week, he is breaking the law unless he does and 99% of those threats are lies. Very few creditors sue someone who is regularly paying; it's stupid to do so. Many threaten those people, knowing that some people let themselves be intimidated.
Send creditors a DROP DEAD letter. You can find one at www.clarkhoward.com on his site. Send it certified. That letter tells them they cannot call you or write you any more. You have that right under the law. (They can sue you even with a drop dead letter).
If you have serious debt problems, it may make sense to permanently stop collection with a bankruptcy. If you're in metro Atlanta, call me at 404-768-3509 to discuss that.
