Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

paying for nothing

I purchased a new vehicle in nov.,2007. I lost my job 3 months later. I could no longer afford the vehicle. I called the finance company and told them this and to come and pick up the car. The payoff was $26,000. The finance co. sold it for $13,000 and now want me to pay off the balance. Is that legal? I purchased the car in Ga. but now I live in NC.

Read your contract. They did exactly what you signed. You owe them the balance.
