Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Personal Loan

A co-worker offered me a loan and I accepted. She then walked quit her job. I was her supervisor. She emailed my employer demanding payment and I had started to repay the loan. She accused me of un-ethical practices and implied that I used my position to obtain the loan. I did not approach this person for the loan, they offered. Please advise my recourse, if any. I had already purchased a cashiers check to include interest to pay her off, when I discovered she sent payment demands to my employer and none to me. Please let me know if I have any grounds to defend myself and any course of action I may have because she disclosed personal information not only to my employer but other co-workers.

Re: Personal Loan

You owe the money, and were prepared to pay it off. Do it and end it, and move on. Not paying her is exactly the thing that will make it worse and keep it going. She may be rude, but she certainly as "recourse" to go after you for the money. Common sense controls.
