Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

post judgement deposition

I have a post judgement deposition on 09/06/07. I am in the process of filing bankruptcy with the debt that has the judgement encluded. If I am in the process of filing bankruptcy do I need to still answer to the deposition? I have just gotten the money together to file bankruptcy. I've attempted twice before but couldn't come up with the funds for a lawyer. I have decided to file on my own.

Thank you

Probably not, but we don't know the nature of the debt or claim. If you do not know the answer to a relatively easy question (for a lawyer familiar with the facts), chances are you will not fare well navigating a bankruptcy case on your own. How much debt will you get discharged, and is risking that amount of money worth saving the attorneys fee?

Bankruptcy is far too complex for you top even think of doing it without a lawyer. Get a lawyer.

The filing of a bankruptcy will generally stay collection efforts. Talking about filing one doesn't stop anything.
