Private School Tuition Contract

I have signed a contract to pay tuition for private school for 07-08. Tuition is due June 1. Due to business situation, we can no longer afford to pay. Can we be released from the tuition obligation?

Inability to pay is not a defense to a contract. Unless the contract contains language that allows you to change your mind, you can be held to its terms.

You fail to mention what the contract says about cancellations or refunds. Read it.

What the attorneys say above is true. Also talk with the school they may be willing to release you from the contract.
