Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

Served with Papers Today
To keep this very short:

My husband was served with lawsuit papers today. After checking his credit report the account was closed and sold in 2001.

We want to use the SOL defense. What exactly are the first steps in answering this lawsuit? Is it better to do it right away or to wait till 20 of the 30 days and then answer?

When you have been served with a lawsuit, it is time to forego the message boards and get a real live lawyer.
