Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
What can I do in this situation? I'm contacting you on behalf of my grandmother. A few years ago she called Georgia Legal Services for help with Sears card debt. Back then she said that GLSP said that Sears could not take her to court. All of this started years ago when she sent a vcr to be fixed by Sears and they said that there's nothing wrong with it and sent it back and she felt she shouldn't have to pay for a vcr that didn't work. The vcr just stopped working and nothing was done to it.She still has the vcr.Now years later she received a letter from Frederick J. Hanna & Associates about the same thing. She thought the matter was settled since she couldn't pay the amount they ask for.

Ask her to level with you because no lawyer would ever have told her that Sears could not sue. So she's not being straight with you. She does need a lawyer now. Defenses must be raised.
