Of course there is. There is a statute of limitations for almost anything except murder and collection of a federal student loan debt. It is 6 years on a credit card account in Georgia and 4 or 6 years for most other debts.

However, just knowing about a statute of limitations does not really help as it is more complicated than that. First, what type of cause of action is it? Different limitations periods apply to different types of actions. For a debt, when was the debt last paid? Was the debt created in Georgia or another state? If its a credit card, what does the credit card agreement say? Some credit card agreements state that the laws of another state will apply, not Georgia law. Where did you live, if other than Georgia, when the debt was created? Did you ever leave Georgia for a period of time? Was there ever a payment on the debt after the statute of limitations expired so as to revive the debt?

These are all things to think about. Rather than posting a simplistic question, it would be better if you re-posted your question with the relevant details.
