Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
Statute of Limitations on Default Judgment
Dear Sirs:
Please advise when the statute of limitations on a default judgment for a credit card begins. Is it from the original date that the first payment was not made on the credit card or from the date that the default judgment was decreed in court. This is for the state of Georgia. No payments have been made since the original payment was missed almost 8 years ago. The default judgment was decreed by the court in November, 1999.
Your help is appreciated.

Re: Statute of Limitations on Default Judgment
A judgment from a Georgia court remains enforceable 7 years from the date of judgment. In general it accrues interest at 12% per annum until satisfied.
