Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

student loan

i went to school over 20yrs ago.i paid my loans back that i was aware of, now i am getting letters stating that i am delinquent on a student loan. i have purchased 2 homes in these past years with nothing showing up on my credit. i am not sure this is even my loan. some of the paperwork sent to me has my name spelled with a k instead of a c. if the loan is mine is there a statute of limitations on collecting this debt, like 7 years?

Re: student loan

Many debts are not reported to credit bureaus. There is no statute of limitations. You should know if you borrowed money or not. To be sure it's your loan, write the creditor and ask for a copy of the loan paperwork/note.
