Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
can you sue a lawyer .for purposely not to repersent correctly
1 Answer from Attorneys
Can you sue? Anyone can be sued at any time for anything. Will you win? Hard to say. You have to show that but for the lawyer's action or inaction that you would have won your case. Its not very easy to prove.
I find it hard to believe that a lawyer intentionally and purposely did not represent you correctly. Lawyers are like everyone else - some are good and some are bad.
However, this generally is not the kind of case that lawyers like to take at all and especially not on contingency. What did the lawyer do? Is it going to be something covered by malpractice insurance if the lawyer has it? Something like missing a statute of limitations or screwing up a real estate deed? Or did you just lose your case and are not happy about it? You do not have to answer me but these are things you need to really think about before you start suing anybody. Depending on t he answers, you then need to either find a iawyer who handles lawyer malpractice issues and pay for a consult with him or her. Or you can try filing a malpractice claim with the attorney's insurer. By t he way, this is not a credit/debt/collection question. It falls in torts or malpractice.
