Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia
i am being sued for 5000.00 dollars by a bank for debt owed on a credit card.I intend to contact the law firm handling the case and offer to pay 50.00 dollars a month.I can probably afford to pay more most months, but 50.00 is all i can commit to right now.would this be acceptable?Any other advice on negotiating with them?

I doubt $50 a month will please them, although if they accept in writing you could do them. You may get better answers consulting with a bankruptcy and debt relief lawyer as to your options. Be sure you act before 30 days from when you were served with the suit.
First: DO NOT let the thirty days from when you were served go by without filing an Answer with the court. Second, I can't speak to what the bank will accept, but whatever you agree on, GET IT IN WRITING.
